Edge Steakhouse Wins 2014 Restaurant Wine List Award, Award of Excellence
Latest Awards Mark First Year for Restaurant Wine List Award, Second Year-in-a-Row for Award of Excellence
Last week, Wine Spectator announced its annual list of Restaurant Wine List Award winners and among the 20 honorees in Utah was Edge Steakhouse at Westgate Park City Resort & Spa. This appearance on the honoree list marks the first year that Westgate Park City has been given with this distinction.
The award is traditionally given to restaurants that “offer 100 or more quality wine selections with a significant vintage depth or superior breadth in one or more major wine regions”. To date, Edge Steakhouse has an extensive collection of wines from across all six major continents around the world.
“We pride ourselves on our extensive wine list,” remarked Brian Waltrip, General Manager of Westgate Park City. Resort & Spa, “Our guests come to Park City to sit in the lap of luxury. It is only fitting that they have their choice of some of the best world-class wines and spirits – anything less would simply not be acceptable for our resort.”
Of the honorees for the Restaurant Wine List Awards, 15 of the restaurants in Utah also earned the prestigious Award of Excellence, including Edge Steakhouse. This award recognizes restaurants that “offer an interesting and diverse selection of wines that are well-presented and match the restaurant’s cuisine in price and style”.
Marvin Shanken, editor and publisher of Wine Spectator, said, “The commitment of this year’s winning restaurateurs to building high-quality wine programs has been extraordinary. There has never been a more exciting time to be a wine lover”.
A complete list of the award recipients was published in the August issue of Wine Spectator, in newsstands on July 22nd.
