LATINA Style Business Series Gives Latina Business Owners Tools for Success
The 16th Annual Latina Style Business Series (LSBS) was hosted in Orlando at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort on May 15, 2014.The LSBS is the most successful ongoing business development program for Latina business owners in the nation. Over 30,000 Latina entrepreneurs and professionals have attended and benefited from participating in this exciting and informative one-day business program since it first launched in 1998.
Latina business owners and community leaders throughout Central Florida were invited to attend this year’s event to learn the skills needed to successfully grow their business. Workshops focused on accessing capital to build capacity, maintaining a “healthy business” and staying healthy under pressure, the importance of protecting your business with insurance, and how to use technology and social media as tools for empowerment.
Lourdes Mola, Manager of Minority Business Development at Walt Disney World Resort, co-chaired the event and highlighted the commitment of Walt Disney World to diversity and the Latino community.
The event closed with the Latina Entrepreneurs Spotlight, which highlights the achievements of local Latina business owners and discuss lessons learned and insights gained through their professional careers, and how to address and overcome challenges. This year’s award recipients Yanet Herrero, President and CEO of Kings Service Solutions Inc. and Cristina Calvet-Harrold, President and Owner of CCH Marketing & Public Relations were recognized for their professional achievements and significant contributions to their communities.
