Disney Sponsors HBIF Success Stories Luncheon in Tampa
TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 1, 2013 – The Hispanic Business Initiative Fund (HBIF) recently hosted their annual Success Stories Luncheon in Tampa. The signature fundraising event brought more than 300 government, business and community leaders together to celebrate the achievements of a select group of Hispanic-owned small businesses.
Sponsored in part by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, the luncheon also focused on the contributions HBIF makes to the community. The organization recognized Sigifredo Posso of Industry Equipments Inc. and Javier Navas of NB International Business LLC for their business accomplishments in the Tampa Bay area.
“For more than 22 years HBIF has promoted and supported the Hispanic entrepreneur, and with the support of Disney, HBIF continues to serve as a vehicle for job growth in Florida,” said Christina Pinto, chair of the HBIF board of directors.
The HBIF is a nonprofit organization that specializes in providing bilingual assistance to Hispanic entrepreneurs who are establishing or expanding their business. Through HBIF entrepreneurs are offered encouragement, practical business tools, technical training and other services designed for small business owners.
So far in 2013 HBIF has counseled more than 1,100 businesses and helped create or retain more than 1,000 jobs statewide.
Javier Navas shared advice for other entrepreneurs. “By staying focused and seeking professional counseling from industry peers and business development organizations like HBIF, you will achieve success.”
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has been a long-time supporter of the HBIF.
